A brief company history, for the curious and the creditors.

Vandelay Industries was founded the afternoon our founder decided that a company name had to sound impressive, not true. We chose a name with international resonance, secured a letterhead, and declared ourselves in the import/export business — a field famously defined by its willingness not to be asked questions.

The Founder

Our founder is a man of singular focus. He once sold a business license he didn't own, a service he couldn't perform, to a client he never met. That instinct — momentum over substance — remains our core competency. He is the only employee to have been fired by a client before the client was billed.

Our Mission

To move goods across borders while remaining, at all times, technically uncatchable in the details. If asked what we move, we smile, adjust our tie, and suggest a private meeting. If asked what the meeting is for, we suggest two.
